We are an English school serving clients at three locations in the Dallas-Forth Worth metroplex, Southern California, and the Washington D.C. metro area. We offer English classes to all ages, native and non-native speakers of English. 
Spanish lessons are now offered to all ages and levels and are taught by highly skilled teachers.

Ana Moosavian

Co-Founder & Director

 

Ana is the co-founder and director of  The English Academy. She brings extensive experience gained from teaching in a multi-national setting across several countries as a master ESL teacher. She has an M.A. in TESL and Linguistics from the University of North Texas and a B.A. in English from Azad University. 

 

She has taught at universities, community colleges, private language schools, and corporations.  She brings her unique and tailored style to individuals ranging from kindergarteners to senior executives of Fortune 500 companies in both private and group settings and has worked with students of all backgrounds, ethnicities, and learning levels. She co-founded Englishworks in Plano, Texas, in 2001, teaching private classes, group classes, and corporate training at corporations including  JC Penney, Texas Instruments, Beauty control, and Nokia.

Ana is an entrepreneur and has initiated multiple startups in education and technology, including a Facebook Social Media Application patent (pending). During her teaching years, she has contributed to helping her clients achieve their desired state in moving up the corporate ladder and master the art of English. She has over 25 years of teaching experience and takes joy and pride in having taught English to students of all ages, cultures, backgrounds,  ethnicities, and learning levels in the United States and overseas.

Ana is an accomplished teacher who goes the extra mile to help her students succeed and reach their full potential.  She is an expert at designing and developing curriculum, uses effective instructional strategies while demonstrating high educational standards to keep her students challenged, and has a deep understanding and passion for cultural differences. Her top priority is helping her students master writing, reading, and speaking skills, and build fluency.  She strives to inspire and motivate her students to be the best they can be!

Azi Moosavian

Co-Founder & Director

Azi is the co-founder of The English Academy and manages the Northeast U.S. activities of the school. Based in the Washington D.C. metro area, she teaches individuals in group classes and one-on-one, onsite at both private and public organizations including foreign embassies.

​

Azi has been teaching English to all ages, cultures, and levels for over twenty-five years. Her teaching experience began in Dallas in the late 1990s, teaching at community colleges and private language schools. She co-founded Englishworks in Plano, Texas in 2001, teaching one on one, group classes, and corporate training at corporations including JC Penney, Texas Instruments, Beauty Control, and Nokia.

 

Between 2004 and 2006 she taught as a master teacher at the Community Language Program (CLP) at Columbia University in New York. She co-founded The English Academy in 2010 serving individuals and corporations in the NY/NJ metro area.

 

Azi pursued her doctoral studies in Linguistics/TESOL at Teachers College/Columbia University where she received her Ed M in TESOL and has an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of North Texas, where she graduated with high honors and a bachelor’s degree in English from Azad University.

Ana and Azi co-founded The English Academy in Plano, TX, in August 2017. The English Academy is their second language school.
