Ana and Azi Moosavian co-founded The English Academy to bring rigorous, compassionate language instruction to students of every background, from kindergarteners to Fortune 500 executives.

Ana Moosavian, Co-Founder & Director

Ana Moosavian

Co-Founder & Director

Ana brings extensive experience gained from teaching in multi-national settings across several countries as a master ESL teacher. She holds an M.A. in TESL and Linguistics from the University of North Texas and a B.A. in English from Azad University.

She has taught at universities, community colleges, private language schools and corporations, bringing her tailored style to kindergarteners through senior executives of Fortune 500 companies. She co-founded Englishworks in Plano in 2001, teaching at JCPenney, Texas Instruments, Beauty Control and Nokia.

Ana is also an entrepreneur with multiple startups in education and technology, including a Facebook Social Media Application patent (pending). She is an accomplished teacher who goes the extra mile to help students succeed and reach their full potential.

Azi Moosavian, Co-Founder & Director

Azi Moosavian

Co-Founder & Director

Azi has a strong background in teaching both group and individual classes and has delivered instruction onsite at various private and public institutions, including foreign embassies. She has taught English to students of all ages, cultures, and levels for over twenty-five years.

Her teaching career began in Dallas in the late 1990s. Between 2004 and 2006, she taught as a master teacher at the Community Language Program (CLP) at Columbia University in New York. She pursued doctoral studies in Linguistics/TESOL at Teachers College, Columbia, where she received her Ed.M.

Azi also holds an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of North Texas (graduated with high honors) and a B.A. in English from Azad University. She co-founded The English Academy in 2010, serving individuals and corporations in the NY/NJ metro area before expanding with Ana.
